Cut, woven, stitched.
Panels are cut with a knife, not a press. Rattan is woven around a wooden form, and seams are saddle-stitched with two needles so one broken thread never undoes the rest.

Edges painted seven times.
Each edge is sanded, painted and burnished, again and again, until it feels like glass. Then the bag rests for a day before it's allowed to leave.
